Our team
We were a team of three working on the kaupapa, making sure all the elements came together perfectly and that our exhibitions were delivered beautifully.
But really, this was the work of a much wider community of helping hands supporting us!
Loren Pasquier
Artist, Creative Director, Technician and everything in between…
Originally from France, Loren heralds her work from her journeys across the earth. Her passion for creating art that connects with people collides with her background of degrees in art, design and anthropology. Through her rich experiences across many countries, the feeling of constant transit and movement became a fundamental part of her make-up as an artist. So, understanding the importance of communication between communities, she has dedicated her work to helping bridge the gap between cultures, using her acute sense for framing stories to bring people together.
Tuiana Davidson
(Kai Tahu, Kāti Mamoe, Waitaha)
Kaihāpai
Initially teaching in the Early Childhood sector, Tuiana now works in Tertiary education, teaching foundational Te Reo Māori me ōna to adults and teachers. Her time spent fully immersed in Te Reo Māori at Te Wānanga o Raukawa has equipped her with a Poutuarongo reo Māori (Bachelor in reo Māori) giving her not only the qualification but also lived experience of Te Ao Māori. She has a real passion for learning and guiding others on their journey, supported by her own continual journey of connecting to her language, culture, and identity. She sees the healing potential of sharing lived experiences for Aotearoa and recognises that the journey for Māori and Pākehā are different and both valued. Through engaging in this kaupapa, Tuiana draws on her background of education and te reo me ōna tikanga to ensure that any processes and associated kaupapa of this exhibition are aligned with tikanga Māori, ensuring that the mana of the wāhine involved in this project is upheld.
